How do you calculate aging of a receivables account?

You just look at how long each receivable has been unpaid. Usually, you break them down into categories like 0-30 days, 31-60 days, 61-90 days, and over 90 days. Then, you add up the amounts in each category. That way, you can see which receivables are new and which are overdue.

List all your outstanding invoices. See how old they are, like 0-30 days old, 31-60, etc. Total up each chunk, as in, "Here's the total for 90+ days old." There you have it.
