What is FTE?

FTE is full time equivalent. You can use FTE to total up how many full-time employees worth of work you have. That means that a couple part timers might add up to 1 FTE.If your company has 10 employees working 20 hours a week each, that might be equivalent to 5 full-time employees (assuming full-time is 40 hours/week).

It's a number used to count how much fulltime work is being done, even if some people work less than full time. So, if two people work half the hours of a full-timer, they'd add up to 1 FTE.

FTE stands for Full-Time Equivalent. It doesn't mean full-time employee.

It's a way to measure an employee's workload by converting part-time hours into the equivalent number of full-time hours. You can assume full time is 40 hours, so four 10-hour part-time employees would be equivalent to 1 FTE.
