How do you figure out what the credit sales were during a certain month?

You check the sales records for the month and only count the ones where customers bought things on credit, not cash. If you're using accounting software, there's often a report you can run that shows all credit sales for that period.

Review the company's sales ledger or sales journal for that period. Look for transactions recorded on the account, and sum up all the sales entries that are marked as credit sales. Sometimes, the subsidiary ledger for accounts receivable can also help you verify this.

Start with the total sales figure for the month, then subtract any cash sales. You want to isolate credit sales. If your accounting system separates cash and credit transactions, it's easy enough to just sum up the credit sales entries. Otherwise, you might need to look at the sales journal and pick out the credit ones manually.
