trillium

A balance sheet lists:
- what the company owns (assets)
- what it owes (liabilities)
- the owners' share (equity)

It's the accounting equation, basically.

splendid

It shows a company's assets, liabilities, and equity.

Assets would be cash, inventory, property, and equipment. Anything of value.

Liabilities are what the company owes, like loans or accounts payable.

Equity is the owners stake. That includes retained earnings and common stock.
